UCD Performing Arts College are proud to announce our 16-18 full time training at our fabulous studio's in the heart of Burton on Trent in the Midlands, launching September 2025.
A BTEC in Dance is a two year vocational qualification that focuses on providing students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge in various aspects of dance. Our BTEC qualification is designed to prepare students for career paths on cruise ships, in theatre & collabs with music stars or higher education.
In our BTEC Dance programme, students will learn different dance styles including,

ballet

jazz
-
contemporary
-
commercial and street
-
tap
-
theatrecraft
You will also study dance fitness, choreography, singing & musical theatre, performance skills, dance history, anatomy and physiology, dance production and management.
The course will be made up of practical assessments, performances, written assignments, and work experience in the dance industry.

Students will be involved in to termly shows and will have the opportunity to audition for performance opportunities at the CYD Super Convention and Move It, as well as Christmas pantomimes and national/international performance opportunities.

Once completing the BTEC Extended Diploma qualification our students can apply for Higher Education courses (Degree level or equivalent) .

Our BTEC in Dance is ran in partnership with CSL Creative. This means the course fees are fully funded and the qualification is a Pearson qualification.

Entry requirements
Successful dance audition qualifications at or equivalent to Level 2.
GCSE Maths and English at level 4 are preferred. However, there is an opportunity to study these subjects alongside the BTEC if not achieved.
